Chittoor: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is committed to strengthening the government schools with the cooperation of the people, said Chittoor MLA Dr A Srinivasulu while participating in a programme at National Municipal High School here on Saturday.
To encourage the parents for sending their wards to the schools, the Chief Minister would be launching Amma Vodi scheme in August, he stated. Under the scheme, the State government would extend cash incentive of Rs 15,000 per student.
The MLA made a fervent appeal to the voluntary organisations and charitable trusts to lend their physical and monetary support for improving basic amenities in the government schools. Chittoor Municipal Corporation Commissioner C Obulesu, YSRCP leaders Krishna Reddy, Srinivasulu, Chittibabu, Bhanu Reddy and others were present.
In the programme, Hemanatha Reddy, a philanthropist, has donated notebooks, pens and other stationery to the municipal school students.
