Nellore: The 25-hour countdown for the launch of PSLV-C46 mission commenced on Tuesday at 4:30 a.m from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota and the launch is scheduled at 5:30 a.m on Wednesday from the first launch pad.

PSLV-C46 is the 14th flight of PSLV in 'core-alone' configuration which carries 615 kg RISAT 2B satellite meant for earth observation where there will be no use of solid strap-on motors and this will be the 72nd launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota.

The satellite is aimed at providing support to agriculture, forestry and also disaster management support which will be placed into an orbit of 557 km at an inclination of 37 degree and its life is 5 years.

Filling of propellant for the fourth stage of the satellite has been completed and the countdown is progressing without any snags.
