CP Rajiv Kumar Meena said that training given to them would be not adequate to the present police constables. He said that they would be given more training, and the teams would be formed again once they become aware of the duties at the police station
Visakhapatnam: Vizag city police commissioner Rajiv Kumar Meena has ordered for the cancellation of Shakti teams here in the city, which was set up about four months ago for the protection of women.

In this context, the two constables concerned were warned and also issued memos. Suddenly, the officials have issued orders that 35 constables and home guards in the Shakti team should report at their police stations.
On 25th April 2019, the then DGP RP Thakur launched Shakti teams to control the attacks on women, eve-teasing, kidnapping cases in the city. The women constables and home guards who got selected in the team were given training in driving, mechanism and personality development for a month.
CP Rajiv Kumar Meena said that this training would be not adequate to the present police constables. He said that they would be given more training, and the teams would be formed again once they become aware of the duties of the police station. He added that due to lack of supervision, these incidents happened, and with proper training, the Shakti teams will be reintroduced, he said.
