Cyclone loss Rs 544.83 crore in Kadapa district

Kadapa: A four-member Central team headed by Praveen Vasista, joint secretary to the Home Affairs department, visited Kadapa for assessing rain losses occurred due Nivar and Burevi cyclones in the district on Friday.

They inspected R&B overbridge constructed on Gunjana stream at Reddyvaripalle village, another two bridges washed away in the water at Chiyyavaram, Anantharajupeta, causeway between Tirupati-Renigunta and damaged roads at Chitwel, Mysurvaripalle villages in Railway Kodur mandal, damaged banana gardens, greengram in Pullampet mandal, agriculture motors, horticulture crops in Rajampet mandal in the district.

The team also interacted with the villagers. Later the central team members interacted with district collector Ch Harikiran on the losses. On the occasion, the collector said the district suffered Rs 544.83 crore loss due to two cyclones.
