Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party leader Dr Saptagiri Prasad on Monday appealed to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to give suitable jobs to well-educated youth as per his promises made during his Padayatra and in his party manifesto.

Dr Prasad accused the Chief Minister of betraying the unemployed youth by not releasing the annual job calendar in January 2020. At least, the government should release the calendar in the coming January 2021, to fulfil the Chief Minister's eloquent poll promise to the youth.

Addressing a press conference here, the TDP leader said that unemployed youth with degrees like BA, BSc, MA, MSc, Ph D and so on voted for Jagan Reddy believing his promise to fill 2.3 lakh jobs. But, now, the he was filling only low-paid volunteer jobs which were also being given to the ruling YSRCP goondas and rowdies. YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy himself said that Grama and Ward Secretariat posts would also be given to the YSRCP activists up to 90 percent.

Dr Saptagiri asked the Chief Minister to give befitting jobs to the youth if he really considered his party manifesto like a holy book. The YSRCP was spending Rs 4,000 crore public money every year to pay its activists working in 4 lakh jobs working as volunteers and Secretariat staff. An empty hand was given to the well-educated youth with top degrees and medals. Instead of celebrating his birthday, the Chief Minister should fulfil his promises. Otherwise, the same youth who brought him to power would remove Jagan from his position.

Stating that the YSRCP cheated contract and outsourcing employees, Dr Saptagiri deplored that at the time of elections, Jagan promised to make their jobs permanent. Contract and outsourcing employees who were working for 10 to 20 years blindly trusted the him. Now, Jagan had removed 1.5 lakh staff. Even the existing outsourcing staff were being paid half salaries of Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 per month.

The TDP leader said that the Andhra Pradesh youth with good education got high paid jobs when the TDP regime brought big companies through MoUs worth Rs 16 lakh crore. Skill development opportunities were also provided at that time. But Jagan discouraged all these only to destroy State's future.
