Vijayawada: Minister for Education Adimulapu Suresh stressed on the need for creating awareness among the students of government institutions on chartered accountancy course as it has a wide range of preference and identification across the globe.

Participating in the inaugural of two-day national conference 'Gnyana Uthkarsha' organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here on Friday, the minister said that the government is giving preference to the education sector in the state and the Chartered Accountants have to come forward to strengthen the government educational institutions. He praised the organisers for selecting Vijayawada to conduct the two-day conference.

About 350 delegates from across the country participated in the programme. On this occasion, ICAI Southern India Regional Council chairman Jaman K George stated that there were many changes during the recent period of development like GST etc and the main aim of organising 'Gnyana Uthkarsha' programme was to educate the chartered accountants on the latest developments in the accountancy.

He informed that there are 3 lakh Chartered Accountants and 8 lakh students who are studying CA courses in the country. He stressed that there were no unemployed in the field of Chartered Accountancy. He also assured to organise career courses for the government education system as suggested by the minister.

Organising Committee chairperson Dr CA Yarlagadda Nagavalli said that conferences like Gnyana Uthkarsha would strengthen the ideas and clear many doubts among the Charted Accountants on the latest developments.

Central Council member MP Vijay Kumar addressed the gathering and cleared several doubts on auditing and other topics. ICAI Central Council members D Prasanna Kumar, MP Vijaya Kumar, Vijayawada Branch secretary K Ourna Chandra Rao, ex-officio member T China Mastan and others were present.
