Eluru: An all-party meet organised here on Wednesday criticised Modi-led BJP government at Centre for using force against farmers protesting at borders of the national capital against the Centre's new agriculture reform laws. The meet expressed its solidarity to the agitating farmers in Delhi.

Presided over by CPM city secretary P Kishore, the meet was attended by CPM district secretary Ch Baburao, Congress city president K Rajanala Rammohan Rao, CPI-ML-New Democracy leader U Venkateswara Rao, CPI city secretary P Kannababu, MCPI (U) district secretary S Nagaraju, Lok Satta city convenor Ch Bhimeswara Rao, BSP district president N Ramesh and others.

The speakers came down heavily on the BJP government for preparing noose for farmers by bringing new farm laws. When the farmers have been agitating against the laws for one week, the central government was apathetic to their woes. They demanded that the Centre immediately scrap the farm laws in the larger interests of the farming community. The government should address the grievances of the agitating farmers without delay, they said.

CPM leaders B Somaiah, V Saibabu, CPI leader Ananuddin and others were also present.
