Fake baba dupes old woman, escapes away with gold chain in Nellore district

Sangam: A fake baba has duped an old woman by assuring that her business will develop and escape with the gold chain. This incident happened at Sangam in Nellore district on Friday.

Going into details, An elderly woman P Bhagyamma sells snacks near local Zilla Parishad school premises. On Friday morning around 10 am an unknown person who pretends to be baba came to her stall and made her believe that he tells the future.

The baba said that in order to develop in her business, he would chant mantras for which he asked the gold chain on her neck and said to return it with pasupu kumkuma after completing the puja.

Bhagyamma, who believed it, gave her gold chain to the baba. He pretended to keep the chain in tamalapaku leaf. After chanting mantras, he gave a box with tamalapaku and pasupu kumkuma to her and escaped from there.

After ten minutes, Bhagyamma opened the box and found the gold chain was missing. Later, she realized that baba has cheated her and immediately lodged a complaint with Sangam police station. Over receiving the information, the police registered a case and investigating further.
