Fire breaks out at scrap godown in Vizianagaram
In a horrific incident, a fire broke out at a scrap purchasing shop cum godown in Vizianagaram on Thursday.
Vizianagaram: In a horrific incident, a fire broke out at a scrap purchasing shop cum godown in Vizianagaram on Thursday. Huge flames and dark smoke erupted out of Srikanaka Mahalakshmi plastic scrap godown in VT Agraharam area of Vizianagaram city in the morning while the locals feared that the flames would spread toward their homes.
But the fire fighting teams reached the spot and controlled the flames from spreading to other areas. The godown is located in the residential area and nearby Aruna jute mill where the huge quantity of jute material is stored. However, the fire fighting teams have rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The loss is estimated to be around Rs.10 lakhs. Revenue and police officials reached the spot and observed the conditions. The cause of the mishap is expected to be due to electric short circuit.
