Rajamahendravaram: TDP senior leader and former chairman of Godavari Urban Development Authority (Guda) Ganni Krishna demanded the state government to withdraw GO No 2430 issued to supress the voice of Fourth Estate in the state.

In a statement on Thursday, Ganni Krishna said Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy issued the GO to prevent failures of his government by print, electronic and social media and fearing being questioned by people him about the irregularities taking place in the government.

"As per Constitution the press has a right to tell both successes and failures of the government in the country.

TDP which never supressed the rights and freedom of the media during its rule in the state is opposing the GO No 2430.

Everyone in the state should condemn the government's action in this regard," the statement said.
