Vijayawada: About 200 girls studying in Class VIII and IX in Putchalapalli Sundaraiah Municipal Corporation Girls School took part in a rally to mark 'World Child Protection Day' on Friday. The rally was organised in association with Navajeevan Bala Bhavan NGO. School staff and headmaster also took part in the rally.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vamshi of Rajiv Nagar government hospital spoke on the precautions to be taken by the girls in life and the importance of education to excel in life and reach their goals in life. He said that everyone should feel the responsibility to protect the girl child.

The NGO representatives said that they have been carrying out various programmes to create awareness to protect the girl child, and helping them to pursue education and settle in life.
