Visakhapatnam: To promote mutual cooperation in teaching and research projects, GITAM Deemed to be University has signed MoU with Germany-based University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg here on Saturday.
GITAM Deemed to be University Registrar Prof KVGD Balaji and University of Applied Sciences Prof Dr Ing Andreas Wehrenpfenning exchanged the MoU documents in the presence of GITAM VC Prof K Sivarama Krishna, Pro-VC Prof K Sivaprasad and GITAM joint secretary M Bharadwaj at GITAM Campus.
As part of MoU both the organisations decided to cooperate towards the internationalisation of higher education in education and research by way of organising joint research projects, conferences, cultural programs, exchange of faculty and students.
Addressing the gathering, GITAM VC Prof K Sivaramakrishna informed that the engineering students were showing more interest to continue their studies in Germany and the university was also offering special courses on German language.
He said that international academic relations would improve the teaching and research standards. He mentioned that the university was establishing strong linkages with internationally reputed institutions to face the global challenges.
University of Applied Sciences Prof Andreas Wehrenspfenning informed that they were offering innovative programmes and mentioned that his university was offering 33 bachelor and master degrees through 25 faculties.
