Golden Jubilee fete of Prakasam district held
The Prakasam district administration, local ministers and public representatives, officials and people celebrated the 51st district formation day on Sunday in a grand manner.
Ongole: The Prakasam district administration, local ministers and public representatives, officials and people celebrated the 51st district formation day on Sunday in a grand manner.
The ministers Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and Adimulapu Suresh, Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, district Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara and others garlanded the statue of Prakasam Pantulu at the Collectorate and hoisted the district flag.
The collector and other officers and public representatives participated in the procession from the collectorate to the mini-stadium on south bypass road with the folk artistes and performers.
As part of the celebrations, the administration arranged a friendly cricket tournament between the Ministers and MP team, District Collector's team, Superintendent of Police team and the media team.
In the first round, the SP team won against the ministers and MP team with six wickets while the media team defeated the collector team with 5 wickets.
In the finals, the SP team beat media team with 63 runs. The MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara presented the cups to the winning team and runners up team.
In the matches, the ministers Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Adimulapu Suresh, MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, MLAs Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy, TJR Sudhakar Babu surprised the audience with their performance and gameplay.
