High alert sounded in Tirumala
On the instructions from the DGP office, Chittoor SP Ch V Appala Naidu and Tirupati Urban SP KKN Anburajan have directed all the DSPs to be on alert in the wake of Central government scrapping Article 370 which empowers Special Status to Jammu & Kashmir and bifurcating Jammu & Kashmir State into two union territories.
Tirupati: On the instructions from the DGP office, Chittoor SP Ch V Appala Naidu and Tirupati Urban SP KKN Anburajan have directed all the DSPs to be on alert in the wake of Central government scrapping Article 370 which empowers Special Status to Jammu & Kashmir and bifurcating Jammu & Kashmir State into two union territories.
One union territory is Jammu & Kashmir with Assembly and another union territory is Ladakh without Assembly. The TTD security officials were also told to be on vigil in Tirumala. The DSPs were asked to focus on towns like Madanapalle, Punganur and Piler where presence of Muslims is more.
Speaking to The Hans India, Chittoor SP Ch Venkata Appala Naidu stated that instructions were given to police personnel in Madanapalle, Punganur and Piler towns to ensure no untoward incidents take place. The policemen are keeping a close watch on sensitive areas in these towns, he said.
The local BJP leaders celebrated passing of the resolution scrapping Article 370 in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. The raised slogans in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appreciated him for taking a bold decision to revoke Article 370 regarding Jammu & Kashmir.
The BJP workers burst crackers and distributed sweets to people at Nalugukalla Mandapam Junction here on Monday afternoon.
