In a tragic incident a 19 years old Engineering student in IIIT of Idupulapaya committed suicide by hanging himself to a ceiling fan in the hostel room after he was reportedly not permitted to write the examinations on Saturday.

Kadapa: In a tragic incident a 19 years old Engineering student in IIIT of Idupulapaya committed suicide by hanging himself to a ceiling fan in the hostel room after he was reportedly not permitted to write the examinations on Saturday. The deceased was identified as A.Manjunath Reddy(19) of Ganapathi Nagar in Mydukuru town.

According to the sources the deceased Manjunatha Reddy son of A.Siva Linga Reddy, Saraswathi was studying 1st-year Mechanical Engineering in IIIT of Idupulapaya. It is leant that the college authorities have registered just 35percent attendance against the deceased following he was absent to the classes for many days due to various reasons including his mother's health problem.

This leads he was ignored to write BW semester examinations scheduled to begin from 28th November as he failed to maintain 75 per cent attendance. In this connection, Manjunatha Reddy hanged himself to a ceiling fan in room No 43 around 8.30 PM in the absence of inmates.

His colleagues who returned to the room in the afternoon noticed something wrong even after they knocked the door several time not opened informed the matter to the college management. He was immediately shifted to the hospital located in the college premises where the doctors declared him brought dead. Vempalle police registered the case and are investigating.
