Likely to take a decision on female Deeksha Guru in the next GBC meeting.

ISKCON is seeking to approve female to become Mantropadesu Guru for ensuring equality of men and women.

Tirupati: The Governing Body Commission, (GBC) the highest policy making body of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) meeting here on Wednesday discussed various issues including the strengthening the organisation, promotion of Sanathana Dharma and popularising the preaching of AC Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON, to glorify Lord Krishna based on Bhagavat Gita and Srimadbhagavatham.

It also reviewed the activities of ISKCON in various countries. The GBC members from all over the globe are participating in the meeting which began on October 11 and conclude on Thursday.

Interestingly, the meeting though expected to take a decision on the much debated `female Deeksha Guru' did not come to any conclusion on the contentious issue which will be taken up again in the next GBC meeting, sources said.
