Join hands to protect environment: Joint Collector P Rajani Kantha Rao
Joint Collector-2 P Rajani Kantha Rao flagging off the green rally organised on the occasion of the World Environment Day in Srikakulam on Wednesday
Srikakulam: Protection of environment is the responsibility of each and everyone, said Joint Collector-2 P Rajani Kantha Rao. He flagged off the green rally organised by the Pollution Control Board (PCB) Srikakulam regional office, on the occasion of the World Environment Day in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, he appealed to people to stop use of plastic which will help in protection of environment. He also wished that people should be aware of pollution and ask the government to take necessary steps in protecting environment from pollution. "It is the primary duty of the government to protect environment and to provide clean environment to people," he said.
On the occasion, they displayed placards on importance of environmental balance to lead healthy life. PCB Executive Engineer S Sivasankar Naik and staff attended the programme. AP forest department officials also organised the World Environment Day at Government Arts College grounds. On the occasion, they planted saplings around the college ground.
