Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Pola Bhaskara on Wednesday announced the extension of lockdown in the district up to July 31.

The Collector issues orders under Section 6(2)(i) of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and the National Disaster Management Authority.

Lockdown is extended in containment zones up to July 31 and to reopen more activities outside containment zones in a calibrated manner. He said as per the para 2 of the guidelines for phased reopening issued by the MHA, the movement of individuals will remain strictly prohibited between 10 pm to 5 am, except for essential activities.

Hence, Pola Bhaskara as the Collector and District Magistrate exercised the power conferred upon him under CrPC I, promulgated Section 144 CrPC and strictly prohibited the movement of individuals for nonessential activities between 10 pm to 5 am in the entire district from July 1 to 31.
