Addressing the media at his office here, Magunta said that though his family hails from Nellore, Prakasam district people have been showing tremendous love and support to them.

He claimed that his brother Subbarami Reddy was loved by the people of Prakasam district as no less than a God. He thanked the people for their love and affection in making the word - Magunta as a brand name and requested them to continue the same as Magunta family will try to continue in politics from Ongole only.

Amid slogans in support of him, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy announced that he was resigning as member of TDP and as MLC. He said that Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Subbarami Reddy shared a special bond and their families were having an association for several decades now.

He announced that he was joining the YSR Congress Party as per the demand and suggestions of Magunta family supporters and well-wishers, to continue the welfare rule of Rajasekhara Reddy under the leadership of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
