Model polling booth inagurated

Eluru: As part of voter awareness programme, a model polling booth was set up at Collectorate here.
District Collector Praveen Kumar while inaugurating the booth called upon the voters to be responsible in exercising their right to vote. He said that they are taking up voter awareness programmes to increase the polling percentage in the district.
Apart from holding voter awareness programmes in every mandal, stress is being made on propagation of ethical voting. Model exhibition of EVM and VVPAT is also being taken up.
He said they are explaining to voters on the use of EVMs and VVPATs and procedure to cast their vote apart from cross-checking with VVPAT. Because of their awareness programme, many have enrolled their names as voters in the district. The final list of voters will be released on March 24.
Explaining features of the model polling booth, the Collector said that voters will come to know how to vote and verify the same after entering the model polling booth. It will be beneficial to voters to understand the procedure of voting, he added.
