The MSS members led by president Mukthar Ali participated in the event. The chief guest, ACP, South Vijayawada, N Suryachandra Rao speaking on the occasion, congratulated the organisers.
He said it was a delightful and happy occasion to celebrate the Sankranthi festival by MSS. He said India is well known for unity in diversity and its secular fabric.
He wished that Hindus and Muslims should celebrate the festivals together and live peacefully with harmony. He lit the bonfire along with Mukthar Ali and celebrated the festival.
G Sai Vinay Kumar, Shaik Vali, Sk Subhani, B Rama Reddy, Shaik Ghouse Basha and others were also present on the occasion.
