NCSK Chairman Manhar Valjibhai Zala visits Visakhapatnam Port Trust
Chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karmacharis (NCSK) Manhar Valjibhai Zala visited Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) on Monday.
Visakhapatnam: Chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karmacharis (NCSK) Manhar Valjibhai Zala visited Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) on Monday.
Deputy Chairman of VPT P L Haranadh gave a guard of honour to the Chairman and also gave a presentation on existing facilities, cargo throughput, performance, developments and initiatives taken by the Port Trust.
This apart, the VPT Deputy Chairman explained the payment structure of Safai Karmacharis in VPT along welfare schemes being implemented. Addressing the gathering, Zala stated that the Safai Karmacharis were the weakest community in the country and hence efforts will be taken to uplift their children and also help them lead a dignified life with better living conditions.
He also mentioned that the CSR funds of VPT should be extended to the Safai Karmachari community and their children the benefit of skill development training.The chairman of NCSK expressed his satisfaction over port operations and its continuous growth. Heads of various departments of the Port Trust, senior officers and members of SC/ST Association, among others participated in the meeting.
