Nellore: District Collector MV Seshagiri Babu interacted with representatives of the traders' associations in Stonehouse Pet on Sunday and asked them to follow containment restrictions.

He visited the area along with officials. He said the containment period of 28 days should be completed after the last case was reported. It will be completed on June 9 and they won't allow opening of shops till that date, he clarified. He also said that the State and Central Government have provided guidelines for the containment clusters and they should be followed strictly.

He said they had imposed the restrictions in the area as two positive cases were reported. Representatives of the traders' associations requested the Collector to allow trading outside the containment zone as about 200 traders are facing difficulties.

The Collector said there is a committee with RDO, Municipal Commissioner, and DSP that accords permission for such activities. SP Bhaskar Bhushan, RDO Hussain Saheb, In-charge Municipal Commissioner P Seena Naik and others were present.
