New born dies in hospital fire in Hindupur
Close on the heels of the death of a newborn in a fire accident at Shine hospital in Hyderabad, a newborn baby died after a fire broke out in ICU at a government hospital in Hindupur on Saturday.

The fire broke out from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to a short circuit. Getting into details, a woman was admitted to the hospital on Friday evening after she developed labour pains and gave birth to a baby boy. However, the newborn was put in the ICU due to her ill health.
Around 11 pm, a condenser inside air compressor caught fire which engulfed the unit and the oxygen supply was disrupted. With no oxygen left in the unit, the newborn suffered asphyxiation and died.
The parents alleged the negligence of the hospital staff has taken the life of their child. The police registered a case and launched an inquiry.
