Tirupati: While 13 Covid patients got discharged from two Covid hospitals in Tirupati, nine fresh positive cases have been reported on Saturday taking the district total to 277. Taking into account the fresh discharges, the number of active cases remain at 79 with 197 discharges and one death of Covid patient.

The day witnessed 13 discharges with nine from Ruia Hospital and four from state Covid hospital in SVIMS. Among the new cases, three are women and they have reached the district from other countries or states. The results of 220 samples are awaited after the declaration of 28,639 results till now.

Meanwhile, Arcot Krishna Prasad of Walkers International and IMA President Dr P Ravi Raju felicitated 20 doctors who have been discharging duties at Covid ward in Ruia Hospital on Saturday. Ruia Hospital superintendent Dr T Bharati has presided over the programme and lauded the initiative of Walkers International. Covid-19 nodal officer Dr S Subba Rao, Dr Vasudeva Rao, Dr Yugandhar, ARMO Dr Harikrishna and others have participated.
