Ongole: Balineni distributes ex-gratia to kin of electrocution victims

Ongole: Minister for energy, forests, environment, science and technology Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, collector Dr Pola Bhaskara, Santhanuthalapadu MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu distributed the ex-gratia cheques for Rs 10 lakh to kin of electrocution victims in Machavaram village on Saturday. The minister consoled the grieving family members of the 10 victims, who lost their lives in the tractor electrocution accident.

He said that the chief minister inquired about the incident immediately and ordered to announce ex -gratia of Rs 10 lakh and they distributed the same immediately. He assured that the government would try to provide a livelihood to the families of the victims and ordered the police officials to not allow more passengers than the approved limit in any vehicle.

Meanwhile, the TDP three-men committee including Nakka Anand Babu, Alapati Rajendra Prasad, Sriram Malyadri also visited Machavaram and consoled the families of victims and provided Rs 25,000 as monetary support to each of them. They alleged that the government was showing discrimination towards dalits and demanded Rs 1 crore as ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased.

On the other hand, the APCC president Dr Sake Sailajanath, DCC president Eda Sudhakar Reddy and others also consoled the electrocution victims and their family members. In the press meet held at the District Congress Committee office, Sailajanath demanded the government to provide the same ex gratia Rs 1 crore, that was given to the kin of Visakhapatnam gas mishap victims to the family members of the Machavaram accident.
