Ongole: Minor irrigation tank develops breach at Konijedu
Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy directs officials to avoid loss to lives, property because of breach of tanks
Ongole: Minister for energy, forests, environment, science and technology Balineni Srinivasa Reddy ordered the Prakasam district collector Dr Pola Bhaskara and other irrigation officials that they should make sure no casualties and property loss occur due to damages to irrigation tanks.
The minor irrigation tank at Konijedu village, which was up to the brim by the flood due to Nivar cyclone, breached on Sunday early morning and the locals alerted the Tanguturu tahsildar Sivakumar and irrigation officials. Receiving information about the breach, the collector rushed to the spot immediately and administered the repair works by using sandbags and soil transported through the tractors and earthmovers.
Irrigation SE Reddiaah, STEP CEO PV Narayana and other officials participated in the repair works and the collector ordered them to take all necessary action to avoid any breaches to the irrigation tanks in the district.
The minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy spoke to the collector Bhaskara and irrigation officials and ordered them to see no crops were damaged and no casualties occurred due to the damages to the irrigation tanks. He ordered the officials to see no inconvenience faced by Konijedu public and avoid wasting water by the breaches.
