Police Abhayam for women's safety: SP S Senthil Kumar
In order to provide protection for women and children in an effective manner, the district police have constituted Police Abhayam in which the representatives of all sections would play a key role, stated Superintendent of Police S Senthil Kumar.

Awareness will be created among the women and children towards their security aspects and the steps being taken by the police through Abhayam, he added.
Launching Police Abhayam, also known as Mahila Mithra Committee, at Nagaiah Kalakshethram here on Saturday, SP said that that state police department has recently launched Manila Mithra Committee at Vijayawada , In Chittoor district, we have decided to constitute Abhayam police team in each police station in the district.
Each team consists one woman police constable, head police constable and woman ASI , he added. In addition, one member from recognised NGO, DWCRA, Anganwadi, Bank, Asha worker, ANM, student, prominent citizen would also be included in the Manila Mithra Committee he added. He stated that Women and Juvenile wing has already been functioning in the district averting atrocities on them.
He said the police would rush to the spot of offence if dialled to 100,112,181 phone numbers or alerting Chittoor police WhatsApp no.9440900005 or State DGP , WhatsApp no.9121211100 .Additional SP Supraja also spoke on the occasion. DSP Eswar Reddy, One Town CI Bhaskar Reddy and others were present.
