Potluri promises to promote industries in Krishna district
Says the city needs concrete infrastructure development and Assembly constituencies in Western Krishna require irrigation and drinking water facilities
Vijayawada: I will use my corporate connections and try to attract investment for promotion of industries in Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency limits, said Potluri Veera Prasad, popularly known as PVP, YSCRP Vijayawada Lok Sabha candidate. He added I belonged to corporate circle and have good connections with entrepreneurs of big corporate groups.
Participating in 'Meet the Press' organised at the Press Club in Vijayawada on Monday, Potluri said there would be a possibility for setting up industries in the Western Krishna district and he would make efforts to promote industries in the entire region.
He said Vijayawada Lok Sabha segment was divided into urban and rural areas and the needs of people in urban and rural areas are different. Stating that he hails from the corporate group and has vast connections with entrepreneurs of various industries, Potluri said that he would make sincere efforts to promote business houses to set up units in the region.
He said, "attracting investment is not an easy job and I will not give promise to the people about the huge investment in the region." "But I will try to convince the corporate groups to take up the social service activities in Lok Sabha segment under the Corporate Social Responsibility." He said MP Lad funds were inadequate to fulfill the requirements of people hence there was requirement of CSR funds.
He said Vijayawada city needs infrastructure development and Assembly constituencies in Western Krishna require irrigation and drinking water facilities.
Asked why he decided to come into public life, he said he was disappointed the way the Andhra Pradesh MPs spoke in Parliament when the State was bifurcated in 2014.
"I strongly felt to come into public life in 2014 (join politics) so that our voice can be heard in Parliament in a very impressive way," he added.
