Kurnool (Mantralayam): Devotees in large numbers from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana besides Andhra Pradesh thronged to Mantralayam in Kurnool district to witness Rathotsavam of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy. Every year Aaradhanotsavam is celebrated in the month of August and this is the 348th Aaradhanotsavam being celebrated with gaiety on Sunday.

On the occasion of Rathotsavam, Guru Raghavendra Swamy adorned with golden jewellery will give darshan to the devotees. Marking Vasanthosavam, the devotees used to sprinkle colours on each other. The idol was given Maha Mangala Harati and later he was taken in procession in the main streets (Pura Veedulu).

On the occasion, flowers were showered on the Rathotsavam procession from a helicopter. The Rathotsavam of Guru Raghavendra Swamy has started amid chanting of Mantrochharana by the Veda Pandits, Bajana, hajantris and spiritual music.

Mantralayam MLA, Bala Nagi Reddy visited the temple and offered special prayers to Swamy. The pontiff of Mantralayam Raghavendra Swamy temple, Sri Subudhindra Teerthulu and other priests of the temple felicitated Bala Nagi Reddy.
