Ongole: Prakasam district unit chairman of Indian Red Cross Society Gundavarapu Raghava announced that they would be organising a state-level short film competition to encourage talent.

He announced that they were inviting short films made on the topics of blood donation, first aid, disaster management, hospitals, health clinics, cancer hospital, spastic rehabilitation center, orphanages, schools for deaf and blind, Thalassemia centers, old age homes, cornea donation, health camps, skill development and Junior/ Youth Red Cross activities.

He said that the competition is split into two categories, one category is a short film that explains the services of Indian Red Cross Society and the other category is a documentary on the services of the Indian Red Cross Society. He said that the films must be of 3-minute duration only either in Telugu or English language.

The chairman said that the interested short filmmakers could register their names by sending an email to indianredcrossap@gmail.com by September 20, 2019, and they can produce and send the short films from September 21 to December 31.

The best film that was shot with real-life experiences and the best documentary film on services of Red Cross Society would be presented with Rs 1,00,000 cash prize each. He also announced that there are special jury prizes of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25000 each in the two categories.

He said that the prizes will be awarded through the hands of the Governor of Andhra Pradesh in the Red Cross Society anniversary program, which will be communicated to the winners later. He said that the people can call 9894499788, 9100078579 for more information.
