Kadapa: AP Rythu Sangam district president B.Dastagiri Reddy has appealed the government to release the water from Sri Sailam reservoir in the interest of farmers conducting agriculture operations under the KC canal.
Addressing press conference here on Wednesday he said farmers are irrigating crops about 92,000 acres under the KC canal. He said that farmers are going for plantations in crucial Kharief as they were sufficient availability of water in the Reservoir.
He said that the Srisailam reservoir is witnessing full following adequate inflows that are reaching into it from the Krishna River.
The Rythu Sangam leader also urged the collector to take initiative for creating confidence to the farmers through different ways like informing them through Dandora etc in the villages over the release of water. Ruthu Sangam leaders M.Ramana Reddy and others were present.
