Ijtema is an Islamic congregation organized by the Islamic organizations in association with the thousands of Muslims. A huge number of people engage in the Ijtema, as it is an essential part of the Tablighi Jamaat around the world and it plays a significant role in the lives of Muslims.

It is said to be a faith revival movement by the Tablighi Jamaat, by which it works for the moral reform of individuals and purification of the self. The Jamaat leaders explain the basic principles of Islam and how to follow the commandments in the religion strictly in their lives and in their dealings with the others.

The Islamic organizations in Ongole organised the Ijtema for two days, from November 9 to 10, on Saturday and Sunday, at the agriculture market yard in Ongole. SP Siddharth Kaushal inspected the arrangements made at the market yard on Sunday and appreciated the organisers.

He said that the organizers made arrangements for the free flow of the traffic, prayers, distribution of meals and the volunteers working in coordination with the police department. He said that about 15000 Muslims participated in the Ijtema, which was held peacefully.

He appreciated that the Ongole Ijtema will become an example of the communal harmony in the district and extended his wishes on the festival, Milad-un-Nabi to the Muslim community from the district police department.

The SB Circle Inspectors Balamurali Krishna and N Srikanth Babu, Magunta Raghavareddy son of Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, CIs Lakshman, Venkateswarlu, Subbarao, Md Firoz, marine CIs Chenchu Ramarao, Srinivasa Rao, SIs, Islamic leaders and other Muslim community elders also participated in the programme.
