Srikakulam: To compete with private travels and transport vehicles, the APSRTC should make efforts to improve its services in rural areas and other important routes, said Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Krishna Das.

Launching 'ultra-technology Telugu-Velugu' bus services along with Legislative Assembly Speaker T Sitaram from Srikakulam to Pathapatnam at Bobbili in Srikakulam bus complex on Saturday, he said at present, three buses were allotted for Pathapatnam and two buses for Bobbili.

The Minister said that RTC should work to meet the expectations of people and needs to improve its frequency of services in important routes to improve occupancy rate and to get public image.

Stating that the government is keen on RTC development, he said the RTC officials and staff needs to work with commitment to compete on par with private travels and transport operators. Government is looking to improve RTC services in rural and remote areas where transport facilities are less, minister reiterated.
