Vijayawada: Independence Day celebrations were held in a grand manner at APJ Abdul Kalam Municipal Corporation High School in Arundelpet on Thursday. High school head master Abdul Wajid, school teachers Shameem Fatima, Hussain, elementary school head mistress Naseema Parvin Begum, children and parents participated in the event.
Abdul Wajid hoisted Tricolour and explained the children on the freedom struggle and sacrifices made by the freedom-fighters for the country. The HM distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions conducted in the school. Cultural programmes were organised to mark the occasion.
