Markapuram: TDP MLA candidate for Markapuram Kandula Narayana Reddy alleged that the YSRCP supporters attacked the TDP polling agents at Kondapalli and Goruguntalapadu on Thursday night and still surrounded their houses threatening them to kill, if they step outside.

Kondapalli of Markapuram mandal is the native village of the YSRCP MLA candidate Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy, who is also the son of former MLA KP Kondareddy and son-in-law of Udumula Srinivasa Reddy.

Goruguntalapadu is neighbouring village of the Kondapalli, but they both become part of each other as they grew up. It is reported to police that the polling agents of TDP and YSRCP from the Kondapalli and Gorugutalapadu villages entered into a verbal dual in the Kondapalli polling booth during the election. The officials, police, and locals pacified them and saw the election process go on peacefully.

Speaking to press at Markapuram, Narayana Reddy said on Friday afternoon that after the polling completed, the YSRCP supporters instigated a heated argument with TDP agents and later attacked the houses of the TDP polling agents in Kondapalli and Goruguntsalapadu.

In the attack, he alleged that six people including Ramireddy, Balamma, Ravanamma, Srinivasa Reddy, Seshaiah and Eswaraiah were injured last night and were shifted to the hospital. But, he complained that the YSRCP supporters surrounded the houses of the all polling agents threatening them to kill if they step outside.

He said that the TDP members have already complained to the police last night and pleaded them to bring peace in the village or bring the families of the agents to Markapuram for their safety. He said that the police didn't respond to their plea and instead sent two constables.

He said that it is the responsibility of the police to protect the lives of the TDP workers and they would be blamed if any untoward incident happens. He warned the police that they could go and bring their agents to Markapuram, but he would not take any responsibility later
