Tirupati: Task Force seizes 28 red sanders logs after hour-long hot chase
Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) on Sunday nabbed a smuggler after an hour-long filmy chase after intercepting a vehicle carrying 28 red sanders logs near here.

Acting on a tip-off, three teams of Task Force began combing near Chandragiri on Saturday night. When the teams reached SV Nagar near the city on Sunday, a mini-truck driver was found moving fast after noticing the team approaching the vehicle.
Suspecting something fishy, the teams in their vehicle chased the truck and also alerted Chandragiri police. But the vehicle did not stop after Chandragiri police signalled to halt and turned towards Tirupati-Chittoor bypass road where the teams were able to bring the vehicle to a halt after an hour long chase by intercepting the vehicle.
In the following inspection, two daggers and 28 red sanders logs under the cover of coconut fiber were found in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle Sathish, 27, from Kannamanalam in Vellore district of Tamil Naidu, was arrested.
Task Force in-charge P Ravisankar lauded the teams and said that risking their lives the personnel were able to nab the smuggler and prevented the smuggling of red sanders.
