Vijayawada: City Congress president V Gurunatham has said the party was holding discussions with the Muslim League, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Alliance for Protection Secularism and Constitution to contest the municipal polls in Vijayawada. He conducted a review meeting with the party leaders at the APCC office on Tuesday.
Later, speaking to media, he said the PCC chief S Sailajanath would give a statement on the Congress party alliance with other political parties to contest the local body polls in the State. He said many young candidates are coming forward to contest the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation polls.
Senior party leader Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao alleged that there was total confusion on reservations in the city. Congress leaders KV Kiran, Satish and others were present in the meeting.
