Vijayawada: CPM State secretariat member Chigurupati Baburao has demanded that the state government convene an all party meeting to discuss the Corona cases particularly related to Vijayawada and to strengthen the medical and health department by drafting more doctors and paramedical staff.

Addressing media at MBVK Bhavan here on Monday, Baburao said that the death rate of Corona victims is 1.19 percent in the country and it is 3.4 percent in Krishna district.

He said Krishna district registered 34 percent of the total Corona related deaths reported in the state. Referring to recovery of cases, Baburao said recovery percentage is 55 in the country, 48 percent in Andhra Pradesh and Krishna district has only 43 percent.

He demanded that the government conduct more Corona tests, pay ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the victims who lost lives due to Covid-19, pay special package, sanction assistance to the families of Coronavirus infected people and distribute groceries free of cost to the families living in the containment cluster zones.

Baburao demanded that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should convene all-party meeting to discuss Corona cases reported in Vijayawada and the state and implement employment generation scheme for the urban people also to help the poor living in urban areas.
