Vijayawada: Vahana Mitra scheme date extended to June 20

Vijayawada: Deputy Transport Commissioner S Venkateswara Rao on Friday announced that the last date for submission of applications for Vahana Mitra scheme was extended to June 20.

In a statement here, the DTC said the government pays Rs 10,000 financial assistance to the auto drivers and cab drivers, who are eligible for the scheme.

He said so far Rs 28.95 crore debited into the accounts of the eligible drivers under the Vahana Mitra scheme in Krishna district.

He said the applicants who transferred the vehicles into names of others by May 28 are also eligible for the scheme and further information can be had from the transport department offices.
