The entire Visakhapatnam agency has been observing bandh on Wednesday and Thursday against the cancellation of the GO 3 by the Supreme Court. The bandh was imposed in 11 zones on the call given by GO 3 committee. However, it is backed by former minister Kidari Sravan Kumar, former MLA Giddy Ishwari, and Telugu Desam leaders and all the public groups. Along with them, the Maoist party also wrote a letter in support. Adivasi communities have been united over the issue for over a month.
The supreme court has sought the Central and State Governments to file Review petitions over the GO 3. MLAs of the ruling party also met CM Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday. The government has asked for a review petition. However, the Telangana government has come forward to file a review petition and the rest of the state is silent. Against this backdrop, the Adivasi community called for a two-day bandh. Against this backdrop, the police have set up security to prevent any untoward incidents.
On this occasion, the committee has demanded that 100% of jobs should be given to tribals and requested central and state governments to file a review petition on GO 3. The RTC buses, shops, and other businesses were remained about due to the bandh in agency areas in Visakhapatnam.
