Visakhapatnam: Self-Help Groups women get their cancer screening done
Free cancer screening camp facilitated by Dhan Foundation, an NGO, in association with Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and Research Centre for SHC women, in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday
Visakhapatnam: In an effort to make healthcare reachable to weaker sections, Dhan Foundation, an NGO that works to empower self-help groups, organised a free cancer screening camp on Wednesday.
In collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, the camp saw about 168 self-help group women getting their screening done.
A team of experts from the hospital examined the women who came from various neighbourhoods to the municipal school located at Shanti Nagar for the screening held on the campus from 10 am to 4 pm
The platform helped the women to get their blood test, ultra sound scanning, chest X-ray and pap smear test done free of cost.
A vehicle was also facilitated by the hospital for the women to go through various screenings at the venue.
While doctors Subhadra and Priyanka from the hospital examined the visitors, camp coordinator Santosh and Koteswara Rao from Dhan Foundation attended.
