Workshop on Canal Cleaning in West Godavari
District Panchayat Officer and nodal officer for Cleaning of Krishna and Godavari canals in West Godavari district T Srinivas Viswanath has said the objective of Mission Cleaning of Krishna and Godavari canals was to keep clean, retain the past glory and supply potable drinking water to the people.
Eluru: District Panchayat Officer and nodal officer for Cleaning of Krishna and Godavari canals in West Godavari district T Srinivas Viswanath has said the objective of Mission Cleaning of Krishna and Godavari canals was to keep clean, retain the past glory and supply potable drinking water to the people.
He addressed a workshop organised for the field level staff at the ZP meeting hall for cleaning of Canals in Eluru on Thursday. He said plans were afoot to keep the environs clean in the river valley region. He said canals' length is 361 km passing via 7 municipalities and 129 village panchayats in West Godavari district.
He has appealed to the local bodies to take the responsibility of cleansing the canals. He said the Government has given the opportunity to West Godavari in the first phase to clean the canals. He said Task force will be constituted with various departments to take up the Canal cleansing work soon in the district.
