Hyderabad: Quick Ride, a car and bike pooling application, on Thursday said its registered user base had crossed 20 lakh mark on its platform. The carpooling platform which was launched in 2015 has so far facilitated 2.1 crore trips.

"Of over 20 lakh users, around 4 lakh users are car owners and about 3.5 lakh are bike owners. Majority of users are from IT sector," KNM Rao, co-founder and CEO, Quick Ride, told the media here on Thursday.

The platform is doing nearly 90,000 carpool rides every day, with bike-pooling accounting for about 8,000. Bengaluru tops the list with over 52,000 carpools every day.

The Bengaluru-based is currently operating in nine cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Kochi and Trivandrum.

"We are now focusing on strengthening our operations in these cities before expanding to other locations. We have raised $15 million. We will use these funds to strengthen our platform," he said.

Since its launch in Hyderabad in 2017, Quick Ride has registered more than 3 lakh users in the city. Users can buy the points from Quick Ride and use the carpool services.

A car owner who offers carpool is rewarded by point system for offering carpool which can be used for either taking carpooling rides or can be redeemed for fuel.
