In February 2009, Shetty got engaged to Raj Kundra, with whom she was co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Rajasthan Royals. The two married on 22 November 2009.

Meanwhile on the work front, Shilpa Shetty will soon be making her comeback to silver screen after 13 long years with Nikamma, an upcoming romantic comedy action film directed by Sabbir Khan and produced under the banner of Sony Pictures Networks India and Shabbir Khan Films. The film features Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia in the lead roles.
