Sandalwood actor Mandya Ramesh who mentored Challenging star Darshan from his young age has narrated the path tread by the star to reach his present stage.
Darshan is the son of Thugudeepa Srinivas who would play villains in Kannada movies. Darshan himself had called Mandya Ramesh as his guru while speaking to Ramesh Aravind in the TV show 'Weekend with Ramesh". Now, Mandya Ramesh feels very proud about the progress of Darshan in the film industry.
Ramesh who spoke to a private channel has shared some interesting things about the star. When Mandya Ramesh was conducting Dramas "Robinhood fellow" and 'Sankranthi' at Ponnampet drama camp, one by name Srinivas Naidu had brought Darshan and his brother Dinakar and requested Ramesh to give them a chance in dramas.
Darshan and Dinakar were studying in 8 and 6 standards respectively. Darshan who had a good height was given the lead role in the drama 'Robinhood good fellow'. Both Darshan and Dinakar were very cute and innocent. When these two were playing their characters in the drama, Thoogu Deepa Srinivas who came there, is said to have got annoyed at Mandya Ramesh. Thoogudeepa Srinivas was fed up with the cinema field by that time and he didn't want his children to undergo the same plight, and hence he took back his children.
But Darshan's mother Meena Thoogu Deepa brought them again to the camp and made them learn acting. Darshan and Dinakar should be indebted to their mother, said Mandya Ramesh who shared these details with a channel.
Ramesh also remembered how he blessed Darshan after signing an application when he joined Neenasam. But Darshan's father expired when Darshan was in Neenasam. Later, Darshan had to face a lot of hardships. But he overcame all the difficulties with his firm conviction. Darshan had worked as a light boy during the production of the movie 'Janumada Jodi'. That was my first movie. Later in my third movie 'Mahabharatha', Darshan did a small character. In this movie which was directed by S. Narayan, Darshan was one among many in a group of villains. Darshan's hand was bleeding after he got injured in a fight sequence. But he did not disclose this and completed the shooting.
Ramesh who described the kind of commitment Darshan showed said that he had paid 160 rupees for his treatment. Ramesh also said when Darshan mentioned that he was his guru during "weekend with Ramesh he felt happy and also overwhelmed. Today, he is the highest paid actor in Kannada industry and there is a lot of effort, dedication, sacrifice, behind this success thus signs off Mandya Ramesh.
