Popular TV anchor-turned-actress Anasuya Bharadwaj, who impressed the audience with her sterling performances in films like 'Rangasthalam' and 'Yatra', has reportedly agreed to do a socio-fantasy from mid-June.

"Anasuya was impressed with the author-backed role and also liked the fresh backdrop and new genre," says an industry source. In fact, 'Jabardhast' host has been looking out for women-centric movies for quite some time after proving her mettle in T-town with 10-odd movies. The big budget socio fantasy will be helmed by Bhargav, a national award winning animation filmmaker.

"Anasuya was impressed with the multi-layered role after going through the sketches of her look, story board and other details designed by the director and his team," the source adds. It is inspired by a character from a Hindu epic, but it is too early to divulge more details, the source adds.

Nonetheless, the lanky actress, who made a mark in movies like 'Soggade Chinni Nayana, and 'Kshanam' is now all set to carry a film on her slender shoulders to join the elite club of Anushka, Nayantara and Tapsee, who are hailed as the torch-bearers of women-centric movies. Surely, Anasuya is racing ahead of her co-host Rashmi Gautam in bagging plum roles.
