Cheating, fraud, conspiracy...and a hundred synonyms and many more. All those Donald Trump used to subvert the nation itself when he started losing the elections. Every contestant in any race would like to win. Everyone is entitled to win based on his performance. But, if you lose, you can not blame it on others and even worse, cannot discredit the winner and try to steal the trophy. Joe Biden has won the elections decisively whether Trump likes it or not.
The Congress ultimately approved it despite the chaos. This is by no yardstick a smooth transition. Trump said "there will be an orderly transition on the 20th of January. Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in Presidential history, it is only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!!"
Thanks to Trump America has become great again. Never in the history of the US, did any President was so recalcitrant in stepping out of the White House. Trump has completely forgotten that there is something called grace. The way Washington erupted in chaos as Trump's supporters stormed the Capital during a joint session of Congress to certify the results was filmy, if any. It was shocking to watch but the riots were inevitable.
Trump has been insisting the election was stolen from him. No one from the Republican Party would push back the argument. There was no one to reprimand him and ask him to shut up. Some persons of repute slammed him. The behaviour of at least 100 lawmakers of Republicans who tried to block the elections was equally disgusting.
Trump has gone bonkers. Okay. How about the others? Is this the end of the world for Trump, the loser? Is this the end of the world for the Republicans, the losers? Americans should be grateful to Trump for he has not thought it fit to do it the hard western movie style - with his hat, horse and a blazing gun. The chaos was ignited in a carnival style with people in strange costumes.
What was also striking was the fact that the agitating crowd was not afraid of the cops. It just took the latter for granted. Trump himself was not really elected the President going by the popular vote. Yet, the Republicans believed in it and the people accepted it.
The Democrats did not set the house on fire when they had every right to attempt overturning the election four years ago. But the Republicans thought it fit to do so. The US has to learn a lot about democracy. There seems to be no more a Republican Party in America. What is left of it is Trump's party.
All those who support Trump are only bothered about their political careers. They hailed and worshipped him as their Superman-President and were ready to take to the skies with him. One can find them in a heap of disgrace now. Will the Republican heroes ever find redemption?
