Nidhi Shashikumar explores the role of data analytics in transforming healthcare and supply chain management. Her innovative approaches have driven significant business outcomes, optimising operations, reducing risks, and enhancing decision-making processes across industries

Nidhi Shashikumar has carved a niche for herself as a transformative force in data analytics, leveraging her expertise to drive substantial business outcomes across healthcare and supply chain management. Her ability to translate complex data into actionable insights has not only delivered measurable financial returns but has also revolutionised operational frameworks in high-stakes industries.

Reflecting on her impactful work with Lloyd’s of London, Nidhi shares, "The study we conducted at AIR Worldwide was instrumental in shedding light on overlooked vulnerabilities in supply chain risk assessment. Through meticulous data analysis, we identified risk factors that traditional models had missed, allowing businesses to refine their risk mitigation strategies." This groundbreaking study led to a $110,000 consulting engagement, underscoring the power of sophisticated analytics in reshaping supply chain risk management paradigms.

At Outset Medical, Nidhi took her expertise a step further by developing the Field Service Engineer (FSE) Scorecard, a tool designed to optimise service performance for the Tablo Hemodialysis System. "By creating a structured performance assessment framework, we were able to enhance service efficiency, minimise machine downtime, and ultimately improve patient outcomes," she explains. The initiative resulted in a 20% reduction in service callbacks and an impressive $2.2 million in cost savings. "The ability to provide executives with real-time visibility into key metrics has been transformative, enabling data-driven decision-making that benefits both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction."

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, and Nidhi played a pivotal role in Cepheid’s response. She developed a sophisticated production scheduling optimisation model for COVID-19 test kits, ensuring timely distribution amid volatile demand patterns. "We integrated real-time production data, demand forecasting, and capacity constraints into a cohesive framework," she says. "This enabled the manufacturing teams to adapt swiftly, minimising idle time and ensuring that critical testing resources reached those in need."

Nidhi’s career is built on a solid foundation of technical proficiency and strategic acumen, supported by a Master’s degree in Engineering Management. "Data analytics is not just about numbers; it’s about storytelling—uncovering patterns, identifying opportunities, and driving meaningful change," she notes. Her expertise in advanced analytics tools has made her an indispensable asset to the organisations she works with, consistently delivering high-impact results.

Looking ahead, Nidhi remains committed to advancing the field of healthcare analytics. "The ability to harness data for strategic advantage is more critical than ever," she emphasises. "By integrating real-time analytics into decision frameworks, we can set new standards in data-driven decision-making, ensuring better patient outcomes and operational excellence."

Her contributions continue to influence best practices across the industry, setting a benchmark for professionals aiming to bridge technical innovation with business strategy. "Innovation is a continuous journey," she concludes. "My goal is to keep pushing boundaries, ensuring that data-driven insights translate into real-world impact."
