Hyderabad: 'India is a land of values. It is the moral responsibility of every individual to take innate care to see that these values are transcended from one generation to another' said Raka Sudhakar Rao, senior journalist and writer. He was the chief guest for the inaugural session of one-day national seminar on 'Creating a Value-Based Society' by Charaiveti-Campus Connect, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari of GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad on Tuesday. He delivered a keynote address on this occasion.

'There are two pillars of the cultural value system - loyalty to family and loyalty to the community. One should not be seen in isolation from the other, because successful societies are those that combine both harmoniously' he told. As an Indian, I am proud to be part of a culture that has deep-rooted family values and we have tremendous loyalty to the family, he said.

He quoted many examples like Lord Rama always opted to face the challenges, that's why he was called as 'Maryada Purushottam'. He also told that, 'Varalakshmi Vratham' is meant to connect to the society near around and 'Nandikeshwar Nomu' to share the food with others. Unfortunately, society is missing the great legacy, he expresses his dismay. He warned students that once we miss that fabric the misunderstanding will state from one among the others.
